Germany just kicked Sweden’s ass to move into the final 8. The streets are packed with people celebrating. They spill onto the roads, totally immobilising the whole traffic system, and the police are helpless to stop them. German flags are everywhere, screams and cheers and booze are flowing endlessly. The cars trapped in the jams are honking in celebration, with flags flown out from their windows. It’s a sea of yellow, red and black out there now, and this is just the small town of Pforzhiem. In the major cities of Stuttgart, Berlin and Munich, there is chaos. The aerial view shows thousands and thousands of people on the main streets, cheering. Imagine the length of Orchard Road, from Tangs all the way to Suntec, totally packed with people. As in, totally, everyone is shoulder to shoulder. Celebratory shows on the telly and in the arenas are ongoing. Wow. I wonder what would happen if the Germans lose…
