For those who have no idea what I am going to ramble later in this post, please read this post I had a year back on Singapore’s Prejudice.
Recently, someone wrote a letter to the Straits Times Forum with regards to the same matter above. For god’s sake, the national newspaper. Just goes to show how bad the situation is at times… Click here to read the letter.
Now read the response from the Public Service Commission, aka, my bosses, here.
In defense, a lot of scholars are scholars because they *are* good. Therefore they rise, by their own virtue that they are good. Yet the public refuses to accept this and insist otherwise. Just because we are scholars. Shove it up dammit.

generalization is BAD~
