After an interesting Guy Fawkes Day fireworks Saturday evening at Battersea, I took a quick day trip up to Cambridge on Sunday to visit some friends. I just uploaded the files to Picasa, and they should be visible on the sidebar shortly after the RSS refreshes.
Cambridge scares me. Well, sort of. I’m not saying Cambridge is bad. In fact, it’s great, I enjoyed it a lot. It’s just not my cup of tea when it comes to long term residence.I cannot imagine spending 3 years of my undergraduate studies there. I will probably die of boredom. I cannot imagine not having a Thames to stroll along when I’m feeling down, an Oxford Street to satisfy my shopaholic indulgences when I want, or a Picadilly Circus where I can just enjoy walking in the bustle of people. I’m just not a small towns person, I’m a city dweller. Yes, I like to travel to the countryside, but not live there, at least not at this stage of my life. Cambridge shuts down early, and you would stumble upon colleges and colleges as you struggle to navigate in the myriad of intersections sometimes. I guess it just scares me, because I would probably have spent my undergrad life like this had I gone to Magdalene for the Natural Sciences Tripos. I had looked back several times over the years if I had made a right choice. and it’s a blessing that I came to London, the life amongst other reasons. :)
Anyway, I met up with KR and Royce here, and we spent a lot of quality time together sightseeing and talking about the past. I really miss those days, sigh. Royce, Min’An, Norman and me in Lentor. Everyone has moved on in life, and I feel sad cos I really miss everyone. I was just chatting with Norman a few days back, and he’s already got his wings! Now a full fledged RSAF fighter pilot, just like he has always dreamed. He’s heading back to Singapore, and was just taunting me with food. Bastard :P. Guess everyone will be headed back for Christmas and the New Year, save for Tan, KR and me. It will never be the same again.
