Ok, I’m now in Belgrade (Beograd) in Serbia. It’s a lovely city, but I’m gonna write up on the cities I’ve been to over the past week. Introducing the coastal city of Split in Croatia.

Split is an interesting city set along the Dalmatia Coast. We arrived early morning before sunrise and strolled about a little and got quite lost in the dark. But eventually we found our way to a cafe and I managed to post my previous post! After that, we made our way to the house/hostel I booked. KR decided to go for a haircut and now he looks like a cadet! Anyway, after settling down and washing up, we started exploring the city.

This city was used by the Romans in the ancient times, so there was quite a couple of Roman architecture and ruins in the city. The basements, battlements and fortifications as well as the cathedral are interesting, but not breathtaking. The coast would be more suited to be visited during summer.

So we got bored after a while, and decided to do some hiking. Looking up, we found the highest point nearby and started our hour long hike up the stairs to the top with the Croatian flag flying high. From the top, we saw a lovely looking beach and thus we started making our way along some trodden path down, taking over an hour to find our way to the pristine beach where we chilled, literally, in the cold winds before heading back to town for dinner.
