After going down the coasts and coming up and away from the sea, we come to the country of Dracula. Our first stop was in Brasov, smack in the middle of the Transylvania region. Brasov itself is a magical town situated in the valley of two mountain ranges, nicely nested and protected, with perfect access to the nearby mountain ranges for climbing and hiking.

There is really nothing much to be said, for a picture tells a thousand words, at least for the magical scenery. It’ll let the photos speak for me for the hiking day trip out to Zarnesti, which was a 30minute lousy train ride out of Brasov.

Over the vast fields of farms, we crossed like Frodo and gang… Encountering foal and goat, horses and sheep…

Another turn, another rise, another knoll, another peak…

Over the lands of the free roamers, carefree and ignorant of the worries of this worldly man.
