It was a pretty exciting trip eastwards in the Alps in the French ski resort of Flaine as the 5 of us headed out on an adventure. The weather was quite erratic and we weren’t quite sure if we would have snow to ski/board on. Fortunately, we were blessed with snow. A lot of snow.

This was just snow fall on Day 1. We drove from Lyon to Flaine where we (Me and Dar) had fun for a couple of days while the noobs (Al and Stef) tumbled down the slopes. Me and Dar had to pick up Rach from Geneva after she decided she wanted to stay to finish the coursework and join us late. It was a bit of a hassle and loss of slope time, but no biggie.
The snow storm on Friday was so bad that I decided to camp in the room to study. We did go out to have a snow fight, and other stuff, but it’s all on Daryl’s camera and he’s back home. What we didn’t realise was how bad the snow storm on Friday was that we would have trouble getting out of Flaine to catch our flight back to London.
The car was buried in snow. Like, totally buried. We had to try a couple of times before we finally found the right car. Then we couldn’t get the car out of the snow, and up the icy slopes to the resort to pick the rest up. It was a painstakingly long 50minutes before we got the car up to the resort where the roads have been cleared. Having lost an hour of drive time, it was a mad dash for the airport to catch the 1445h flight, and we picked up speeding tickets along the way for busting the speed limits (130kph) at a whoopping 185kph.
At least we managed to catch the flight, which was DELAYED.
Anyway, I’m off to Greece tomorrow for 9 days! I need my sun. It’s been snowing here for the last 4 days. It’s god-damned end of March.
