The MDA said in a statement today that they will allow Singtel to give it’s pay-TV subscribers access to the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera English News Service. Al-Jazeera is the equivalent of BBC/CNN to the Arab world. It gives a good alternative perspective to the world, compared to CNN which in my opinion is far too American biased, and also to my news staple BBC. Where BBC and CNN gives a much capitalistic view on the world, Al-Jazeera gives a much more balance social view. Remember my previous post on the Malaysian minister disgracing himself? Yep, that was on Al-Jazeera.

Just heard on the news: Odex’s case to have Pacific Internet reveal the identities of it’s subscribers has been throw out by the courts. Nothing yet on the major newswires, but this is from Channel News Asia’s 10pm News Broadcast.
Legally, this is a huge setback for Odex as previous rulings will now come under scrutiny. [...]
